    A term formerly used for a woollen fabric. Made 60-in. wide, piece-dyed; and used for dresses and suitings. It was classed as a broadcloth.

  • 2 Pekin Stripes

    The term given to stripe fabrics in which the different coloured stripes are all the same width; generally silk cloths are meant, but cotton Pekin stripes have been made. The goods are for the China markets. In the Bradford trade, Pekin stripes are manufactured from cotton warp and worsted weft, in many stripe arrangements and numerous qualities. One cloth is made 48 ends and 58 picks per inch, 2/100's fast black cotton warp, 24's mohair weft.

  • 3 Egyptian Coatings

    A style of repp cloth made 43/44-in. wide and piece-dyed for Egypt. One example has 128 ends and 56 picks per inch, 36's T., 16's W., and the stripe is 200 denier viscose. There are numerous qualities and designs. This type of fabric is also made 45-in. wide for India and 28-in. wide for China.
